The ACDV is the B4C community dedicated to influencing and promoting bio-based products derived from plant-based chemistry and industrial biotechnology.
The primary objective of the ACDV Community is to bring together stakeholders across the bioeconomy value chain—and specifically those involved with bio-based products—to establish a regulatory framework conducive to the sector’s development.
This community is the result of the merger between ACDV and B4C, decided in 2025 and implemented in 2026.

The core principles of the ACDV community
Influencing and promoting bio-based products derived from plant-based chemistry and industrial biotechnology. The ACDV plays a systemic and structuring role within the ecosystem.
To give voice to the collective interests of bio-based product manufacturers and build a framework conducive to the sector’s development by highlighting its strengths, representing its interests to public authorities, and fostering societal acceptance of biomass-derived solutions.
- Public affairs / regulatory: identify and prioritize French and European regulatory issues, develop strategic positions, and structure a targeted outreach plan to advocate for these positions.
- Downstream markets: analyze market needs, develop sales arguments, and facilitate upstream-downstream dialogue.
- Sustainability & CSR
Commitment: conveying a strong, consistent, and shared message.
Responsibility: promoting transparent and honest practices and upholding scientific rigor.
Sharing: pooling expertise to strengthen the sector

Critical Chemicals Alliance, launched by the European Commission (DG GROW)
The Alliance brings together Member States, industry players, and trade associations within four strategic working groups, including the “Lead Markets” group, which is tasked with identifying market drivers for low-carbon and sustainable products. Recommendations are expected by the summer of 2026.
B4C is a member of the Alliance and has joined Working Group 4, which focuses on Lead Markets.
In this context, the ACDV community is organizing itself to enable its members to actively contribute to ongoing discussions and ensure coordinated monitoring of European initiatives.
