“We design, manufacture and distribute complete automation solutions” explains Jérôme Desmoulieres, Sales and Marketing Director at Emerson France. “Our objective is to support our customers in the transformation and optimisation of their plants, to enable them to be more profitable, more environmentally friendly, while guaranteeing optimum safety for the sites and employees. We have the largest catalogue of automation tools on the market: we offer measuring instruments (pressure, temperature and flow sensors, etc.), complete ranges of valves, taps… As well as all the control, command and data analysis tools that enable the optimisation of factory operations.
Historically, the Emerson group has been a partner in the automation of industrial processes in the carbon chain (oil, gas, petrochemistry, etc.), “we have customers such as Total, Engie, Air liquide… We are also very present in the energy industry, we design and provide solutions for nuclear power plants, combined cycle power plants, wind farms or solar power plant…

From chemistry to green chemistry
With more than a century of experience, Emerson is now offering its expertise to industrialists and future industrialists in the bioeconomy to help their development. “Our automation tools, which optimise the operation of chemical plants or refineries, for example, can be applied to hydrogen production or biosourced chemistry. Although these industrial activities are fairly recent, we are able to design and suggest solutions to optimise their production.” Emerson already has several members of Bioeconomy For Change among its customers, “such as Solvay, Arkema, Afyren and Metex, with its Carling plant,” explains Vincent Guimera, sales engineer at Emerson France. For Jérôme Desmoulieres and Vincent Guimera, Emerson’s desire is clear: “We want to be the automation partner of all these new players in green chemistry and the bioeconomy. We see that for many start–ups in the sector, it is often difficult to move from the demonstrator or pilot stage to the factory. We can offer them solutions to accompany them from the laboratory to industrial production.
WHY JOIN BIOECONOMY FOR CHANGE?
Vincent Guimera: Energy and ecological transitions are sectors of the future. Today, Bioeconomy For Change is a key player in green chemistry in particular. Joining B4C is an opportunity for us to become part of this ecosystem, to get to know the new players ahead of their industrial projects and be able to offer our support services.
